Proverbs 20:5: States-The purpose in a man's heart is like deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out. "The purpose of a person's heart is deep water, but one who has insight draws them out; highlights the hidden nature of a person's inner thoughts and intentions, emphasizing that gaining accurate understanding requires effort and discernment.
The "deep waters" metaphor illustrates the difficulty of accessing and understanding the true motivations and plans of the human heart. A person with "insight," or understanding, can skillfully extract this wisdom by listening carefully, observing closely, and engaging in thoughtful conversation.
